Now, everything from glasses to airplanes is inseparable from the little thing behind these machines-the screws. Good screws cannot be separated from good processing methods, such as small to 1.0 screws for precision instruments, super-large and super-long screws for wind power equipment and even airplanes. So, what are the manufacturing processes of precision screws?
Thread cutting: generally refers to the method of machining threads on a workpiece with forming tools or abrasives, mainly including turning, milling, tapping, tapping, grinding, grinding and whirlwind cutting. When turning, milling and grinding threads, the transmission chain of the machine tool ensures that the turning tool, milling cutter or grinding wheel moves accurately and evenly along the axis of the workpiece every time the workpiece rotates. When tapping or tapping, the tool (tap or die) and the workpiece make relative rotational movement, and a formed thread groove guides the tool (or workpiece) to make axial movement.
Thread rolling: The processing method of plastic deformation of the workpiece to obtain thread by using the forming rolling die, which is also commonly known as cold heading in the industry. The machines used in this production method are commonly used single-mode machines, multi-station machines, mold clamping machines, etc. The screws produced by this method are produced faster and at lower cost. However, compared with the cutting technology, the screw head and tail produced by this technology are naturally formed, and the shape is round, which is not as sharp and angular as the cutting technology.
Each method has its advantages. Although the cutting speed is not as good as cold heading, the accuracy is higher than cold heading, and cold heading produces more quantities, faster speed, and low cost. Especially when producing precision screws, cold heading is more cost-effective than turning.
Precision electronic cup head screws are usually plated. These electronic screws are small. Plating is also difficult! If the amount is small, the electroplating factory may mix precision screws of different specifications for electroplating, which makes it impossible to electroplate in some places. That can easily lead to product scrap. We need to clean the precision electronic screws before electroplating, and cooperate with the electroplating factory to electroplate the precision electronic screws.
Precision screws should not be matched with rigidity during electroplating, which affects the quality of cup head screws;
First of all, under the regular electroplating process conditions, it is difficult to meet the quality requirements of different cup head screw electroplating. Secondly, the hardware screw specifications are too close, and the size and length seem to be similar. The large and external hex bolts and hex screws are plated separately. Then, the heavier screws and the lighter screws, the smaller screws and the larger screws are plated separately. Otherwise, these two may meet during the electroplating process, causing damage to the screw. Then, the screws easily stick together. They should be plated separately. Otherwise, the cup head screws of two different specifications and models are glued together, and a ball will be formed during electroplating. It is easy to cause electroplating failure. Even after plating, it is difficult to separate the two screws.
